John Azzolini

John Azzolini, MBA, MHP
Director, Practice Leadership

John Azzolini has been with Thomson Reuters since 1994, and has extensive experience working with healthcare data from an analytic and strategic perspective.

Azzolini is currently the director of practice leadership at Thomson Reuters. In this position, he provided leadership for Thomson Reuters consulting staff regarding analytic methodologies and the use of Medstat Advantage Suite® to solve client problems. Much of his work focuses on the assessment of care process and the creation of metrics that examine the quality of care. In addition, he is closely involved with provider profiling and disease management evaluation efforts in multiple markets.

Previously, Azzolini was a consulting manager at Thomson Reuters. In this role, he worked with clients and other analytic consultants to ensure that clients’ healthcare information needs were met through the management of database and analytic services. As an expert user of Medstat Advantage Suite, Azzolini helped clients use the tool to support and drive business decisions.

Azzolini served as the lead designer for Medstat’s Clinical Performance Manager Workstation and Advantage Suite e-Valuate and disease management product designs. He designed content and methodologies for provider profiling and disease management including clinical process measures.

Previously, Azzolini served as senior consultant, providing direct consulting services to managed care and insurance clients in the design and execution of studies to evaluate the impact of utilization management and health promotion programs. He has also worked with clients on analytical methods and techniques as it relates to medical management.

Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Azzolini had 10 years of experience in the HMO and PPO industry. He earned a MBA and MPH from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Cornell University.
